Gurian Guarantees
All of our rosettes, bindings and purflings are hand-made, at our shop, to order. We pride ourselves on maintaining cutting tolerances of +/- .005", and guarantee that our products meet the highest standards of quality. We have a 30-Day Return Policy, so please check your order upon delivery.

We will replace any defective items, but request that you; Examine your Order within 30 days of Receipt, and that you return the items so that we can provide better quality control in the future. All returns must be accompanied with a Return Authorization Number. Please call our office at 206-467-7990 to request a Return.

Wood, as a natural product, will have inherent variation in curl and color throughout any given piece. Not all pieces throughout a lay-up will necessarily display the same amount of curl and color. We devote many hours to acquiring the best woods from around the world to provide the quality you need at affordable prices with the highest level of craftsmanship and expertise.

All new customers are placed on either "Pre-Paid", or "COD" for their first five orders. New International customers must be on "Pre-Paid Wire Transfer" which incurs an additional $10 bank charge.

We request 3 weeks minimum for filling regular orders, plus Shipping time, so please, PLAN AHEAD. We do understand that emergencies and deadlines occur, and we always do our best to see that our customers get what they need, when they need it. Please be aware that "Special" Herringbones, Roping and Squares as well as Custom Rosettes will generally take around 6-8 weeks to manufacture.

We have a $200 minimum order AND a "Single Lay-Up" or "Board" minimum. All of our orders of binding and purfling are based on the cutting of a 5 3/4" to 6" wide laminate, veneer, or board, called a "Lay-Up". We require that you purchase the entire "Lay-up". The yield of a given lay-up is dependent on the width (or height) to which the binding or purfling is cut.

For instance, an order of Black/White 20/10 x .080" x 34.5", would translate as a Black .020", White .010" laminated fiber cut to a height of .080" with a length of 34.5". This lay-up would yield approximately 74 pieces. We have a 100 piece minimum for non-laminated wood strips and binding such as Maple .020” x .100” x 34.5", yielding approximately 48 pieces or Maple Binding (.200”) x .080 x 34.5”yields approximately 45 pieces, so you would have to order 3 lay-ups totaling approximately 135 pieces.

Bridge Pins and End Pins are sold by the Gross (144 pieces). The minimum order is 1/2 Gross minimum except for Mammoth or Custom Pins, which are sold by the pin.

Fret files are sold with a minimum order of 50 fret files.

All Laser products will have a one time "Computer File Set-up Charge", at a rate of $80 per hour, and drawings at $3.00/each. We do not do “One-offs” unless they meet the $200 minimum order. Submission of item drawings as .cdr, .dxf or .dwg files is acceptable. Before completing your order, sample or drawing approval for all new items must be OK'd by the customer. This can often add an additional week to the production time, so please, PLAN AHEAD.

Computer files may be emailed to heatherb@gurianinstruments.com. We can also create the computer file from a hand drawing, but these drawings should have all required dimensions on them or an exact tracing of the object. Generally the only way to accurately measure from these drawings is by receiving an original through the mail.

We do have Item Numbers for all items that we sell, so if you know the item number from a previous invoice it is always helpful to provide that when ordering. We are happy to email you a Confirmation Sales Order when you place an order. Please be sure to check your orders for accuracy.

When we use the term "White" or "Black", we mean white fiber (not Maple), and black fiber (not Ebonized veneer). Try to be as specific as possible in length width and height, when placing an order. We are always available for assistance Monday-Friday 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-5:00 PST. We are closed at lunch.

All shipping, unless requested otherwise is sent FOB UPS Ground. We are able to send you tracking information if requested and if you provide us with your email address. If you have your own UPS account, we are happy to ship to you "Freight Collect", but we do still charge a $3 handling fee.
